Career & Industry

Low Voltage Electricians are in very high demand and operate on the cutting edge of technology in the electrical industry.  Whether it's Commercial Fire Alarm Systems, Building and Home Automation, Security Systems, Nurse Call or Intercom to name just a few, the need for well trained and highly skilled Low Voltage Electricians/Technicians has never been higher. 

Curriculum

Our Low Voltage Electrician Apprenticeship is registered with the Florida Department of Education and Florida Department of Labor.  We have worked closely with Mike Holt Enterprises to develop a curriculum that incorporates trade and manufacturer specific practices from industry leaders as well as learning materials that will provide the technical fundamentals to help you excel in your career and attain the certifications required to master your trade.  Our instructors are all current industry professionals with the experience and knowledge to guide each student to success in the Low Voltage Electrician field.

Sponsorship & Eligibility

Program

Apprenticeships require sponsorship, so have your employer contact us today for our free registration.  Not employed? No problem, Our vast network of local employers are currently hiring and we would be glad to put you in contact with a participating sponsor and get you hired today.

Must be employed full time by an Electrical Contractor or Employed full time with a company providing an Electrical component.  Must be 18 years of age or older.*  Must be able to attend evening classes two nights per week

The Low Voltage Electrician Apprenticeship is a comprehensive 4 year program.  The first 2 years are comprised of the traditional Electrician Apprenticeship.  Upon entering the 3rd year of the Apprenticeship the students will begin the Low voltage component making it a specialization education track. 

This Apprenticeship contains 8000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) and 576 hours of Related Technical Instruction (RTI).  The Low Voltage Electrician Apprenticeship allows for Journeyman licensing exam testing upon completion.  Classes meet two times a week in the evenings and are held at Manatee Technical College.
